Leaves don’t fall for nothing

Well at least not in the summer

The wind can force them to falter

But they way the hold on

Makes them stronger than their structure

But despite themselves

They tend to

When no one is looking

Maybe fall in a cup of coffee

Or ride the invisible waves of the of wind

They also tend to

Where they feel most welcomed

Although our feet don’t get the message

A little girls hands might be its shelter

As she show it off to her mom

In the palm of her hand

Before she could study

The crinkles and its stem

Every leaf has a friend

And that friend has a friend

And they all know that

They don’t
