Meet Morgan R., Student Council’s New President

On Monday afternoon, a new Student Council president was elected. Morgan R., who was one of the presidential candidates, won the election. This Wednesday, Morgan was interviewed by the The Falcon.

When asked how she felt about winning the election, Morgan said she was “very happy and glad that her hard work paid off.” By becoming president, she hopes to help the school and get a sense of leadership that will help her in the future. This year, her goals are to change student’s outlooks about school and behavior.

Being Student Council president comes with organizing many events for the school year. For the month of October, Morgan said she’s planning to start a Pink Out to raise awareness for breast cancer, which will start on October 26. She will also be doing Boo-Grams near Halloween and begin doing the announcements. She says that doing the announcements are “nerve wracking” for her.

If you’re planning to run for president in 8th grade, Morgan said “go for it, work hard and don’t be scared!” Morgan is ready to make our school memorable for each and everyone of us!
